There’s a lot of small ways videogame and comic differ, but the biggest is how they use the original fairytales.

  1. I wouldn't say that "fairy tale elements" in comic are shallow. Writers very often play and twist them as much as they want and when their Snow White and Rose Red became VERY different compared to their originals, they still went to their very old backstory and used it in their own way. + can't not mention that it's reach saying how game is handling characters like beauty and the beast when they're straight from the comics. You should've mentioned how game developers created many of their own characters instead of building on preexisting ones since it would be much easier.

  2. In my opinion the comics are one of the best. The grand had opportunity to drive into bigby while comics at often has to work on a lot

  3. Fables as a whole is okay but I think the only time it ever deals with the repercussions of the fairy tale stories is when the fake hood shows up and hams up her displeasure with seeing Bigby.

  4. Woody got exposed more then anyone in Wolf Among Us😂

  5. You are omitting a lot of things from the comics and also failing to aknowledge that due to the massively more expansive nature of the comics' story they could not focus on all issues as with the much tighter and character driven story of the game.

  6. I fell in love with this game, and I went out and bought up the graphic novels afterwards, but they didn’t scratch the it’s that the game created

  7. Anyone read almost all of Fables and really love it, and then one day reread the part where the witches school Prince Charming on supply and demand or the farcical nonsense Animal Farm plot or the scene where they established that abortion will get someone fully kicked out of the neighborhood, and realize, holy shit this is a right wing screed

  8. I thoroughly enjoyed the Telltale games until the company got bought out and the staff laid off.

  9. Bigby really is a complex character in the game, it’s like he still doesn’t know what it’s like to live like a human and its a toll to be hated on so bad but you gotta think, Bigby was literally just a giant animal, an intelligent one but still an animal living off animal instincts which unfortunately happens to be killing things to eat, yeah it’s bad he terrorized people but then again he was an animal and it’s hard to judge an animal for being exactly what it is sometimes

  10. Honestly wolf among us should've been based off the original comic, like a different universe separate from the main fable continuity but because it's a separate universe Talltale didn't have to be restricted to the lore of the comic and thus could play around with all the characters that appear later in the comics, especially Red, she could've added so much dynamics to the game.

  11. Showing the relationship between Bigby and his former foes/victims in the game was really interesting and well-written, but in the comic book it made more sense – I mean, they all spent in the mundane world few hundreds of years, so they all had a time to work this out and get over with, however, there were still some resentments towards Bigby, just not that expanded in the story due to he passage of time in NYC.One of the biggest differences is also the absence of the Red Rose in the game – those who read comic knows why.

  12. Now with the new season announced I hope to see others fables like:The 7 dwarfs, the others 3 pigs, the bears, granny and little red riding hood with her relationship with bigby it will be interesting to see this besides tinkerbell, blackbeard, Peter Pan,pinocchio,Snow's twin sister,Rapunzel and cinderella + bigby's family and his father and brothers Can't wait for 2024 🤔😁

  13. I like the game a bit more too but the Fables comics are realy good. The biggest difference a fan of TWAU should keep in mind when they start Fables is that Fables is not a noir thriller like the game and Bigby and Snow while important aren't the protagonists. Fables is an epic fantasy that plays with different genres in almost every arc and focuses in Fabletown itself and its inhabitants and their struggle of being far from their lands. And later in their war against the Adversary that made them exiled and their efforts to rebuild what they've lost.

  14. I feel if there were a fable comics about Bigby just solving mysteries in fabletown. That would be a good series. Though I'm sure 90% of them would just be "Jack did it."

  15. I agree that the wolf amomg us has an amazing character development, specially on the animal part, but like, two diferent genres and also, in some regards, diferent protagonists. The game focus on bigby while the comics focus on snow (in the beggning at least). The game is a noir detective focused.on more street level threats and problems more in coumom to.our routine. The comics sets in interdimensional with a lot of bars above in therms of power and problems. Invasion of realms, Destiny, etc.But overall great analysis of the game

  16. I want to buy fables but only to know more about big bad wolf any correct suggestions

  17. I agree with this take. I loved the game and naturally assumed that the comics were similar to the game. Bought a compilation of the comics and began reading them…didn't last long. I stopped reading because it wasn't nearly as good as the game story.

  18. I wonder if they’ll introduce Beowulf, since we DO have Grendel

  19. Fables would be getting revived in 2022 with a 12-issue continuation to the main series, as well as a 6-issue spinoff miniseries Batman vs. Bigby! A Wolf in Gotham, both published under DC Black Label.

  20. Peter Pan Is a Cosmic Horror as Fables Redefines Disney Lore

Disney's Peter Pan may be a slob in the recent Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers, but in Fables, he's a full-blown cosmic horror.

Warning: contains spoilers for Fables #152!

DC's Fables series has a knack for reimagining iconic characters with dark makeovers, and now, a Disney favorite is getting the same treatment. The concept behind Fables essentially takes iconic fairy tale characters (often the same ones who have been popularized through Disney movies) and grounds them as realistic people with hopes, dreams, and inner darkness. In Fables, Goldilocks is a guerrilla animal rights activist, Prince Charming is a cheating narcissist, and the Big Bad Wolf is a morally complex chainsmoker.

  21. "Whosoever believes on the Son has everlasting life." John 3:36. The Greek word sin means "miss the mark". Humans are sinful by nature, and sin as a symptom of our imperfection, which is why we age and die. Our spirit is also flawed, and begins to die as soon as our bodies do as the natural consequence of imperfection, and as a punishment for evil. This is called Hell. We can't change our nature, but God can. Jesus, who was God in the flesh of a man, died for the remission of sin, including yours, was buried, and rose form the dead 3 days later. If you simply believe this applies to you and trust Jesus to save you, then you have everlasting life in heaven. John, 6:47 "verily, verily I say unto you, he that believes in me has everlasting life."-Jesus

  22. What the hell are you Talking about The comics are like 500 times better than the gameAlso, you mention multiple things that do happen and are explored in the comics, and then you state that None of it is there. It’s like you can’t understand the written word.

  23. This amazing, perfect, flawless game has a comic?!?!?! I need!!! I love this game so much, it was so well thought out and detailed, I'm excited to see how the second game plays out!!!

  24. I didn’t know the comics were as old as me! Wow.
